A buyer planning to use a vehicle in France asked I Auto Export for a four-wheel-drive vehicle suitable for a camper body. A manual transmission, suitable chassis and the documents needed for local registration were central to the request.
Why the buyer wanted a manual gearbox
When an automatic hybrid option was discussed, the buyer explained that mountainous and muddy routes were important reasons for preferring a manual gearbox. A vehicle-and-camper package was also of interest.
This changed the sourcing brief: transmission preference and intended use needed to be checked before recommending another vehicle.
The questions that shape a camper vehicle shortlist
- Driving conditions: where the vehicle will be used and which requirements are essential.
- Transmission and four-wheel drive: the exact gearbox and drivetrain of the proposed version.
- Camper compatibility: chassis dimensions, mounting arrangement and the loaded weight of the proposed combination.
- Documentation: the information the buyer needs to have checked for registration at the destination.
These are questions for a vehicle-specific assessment. A model brochure or a camper reference image does not establish that a particular vehicle-and-body combination is suitable.

The conversation remained at the selection stage, with no confirmed quotation in the reviewed messages. French registration eligibility and availability of conformity documents had not been established.
